Does jailbreaking void your Costco warranty in Canada? And is the warranty 2years at costco
I'm sure it does but you could always restore to official firmware before bringing it back.
Costco warrenty lasts 90 days but if something goes wrong with it, say a couple dead pixels or that it came out of the box with scratching all over the back, then Costco will replace it.
Also RI is right, just restore it (assuming you got all your data off it) and your golden.
IIRC, the iPhone has the "Apple limited warranty" which is the minimum warranty applicable to a country.
JBing does void it but a restore removes all traces (on the device).
Also, if it does break, they will probably send it to Apple where they are VERY strict.
For example, a few years back I had to send a nano 2g to Apple (through the shop Argos where I bought it from), the guys at Apple said that "due to damage to the dock, we are voiding the warranty", the guys at Argos however said that there was no real damage and gave me the replacement.
The "damage" was just a bit of plastic at the back.
Then there's also the litmus paper on the dock and headphone jack which if exposed to moisture turn pink, also voiding the warranty. So be careful where you use it e.g. the bathroom, etc.
yeah but costco automatically add 1year warranty to apple one so do they mind if i jailbreak?
wait the costco warrenty is 2 years?
yeah, in canada at least
i think its only 90 in USA though :'(
no im talking about the warranty not he thing that let you give back your ipod (wich is 90days too here)
