This is a discussion thread for the "Cost of Data Plans by Country" story posted on the front page.
That's insane. I'm going to move to Singapore and buy a phone there.
Well, you would also have to live there.
Just imagine how much money the cell companies are making stealing from us in North America, Europe, and other parts of the world! Please Register or Log in to view images

Off topic: I live in Greenland. Best offer on an internet connection is 175$ a month for 6gb of internet, after that you have to pay per mb. Just sayin, maybe ya'll aren't suffering that bad. We just got 3G internet in the capitol, starting the package costs 52 alone, if you pick the basic or the "gold" pack. Basic is pay per mb. about 90 bucks for 1gb and a small fee a month for it. Gold is 2gigs included but 120 bucks a month just for having it and again pay per mb afterwards. Greenland SUCKS!
Wow, those lucky people from just across the Causeway are getting so cheap data rates... Wonder how it compares with us in Malaysia?
Wikipedia says Greenland is the least dense country in the world. (By a long shot) That explains it!
I think we should also take into consideration how many subscribers the network has.
AT&T has many more than Singapore.
Still, I completely disagree with AT&T's plans and think it is wrong to charge us that much.
Charging another $20 to use data we're already capped at (and paying for) for tethering is horrible.
It's unethical for AT&T to do that, IMO.
But hey, this is business... What more can we expect? Please Register or Log in to view images Please Register or Log in to view images
Lol Canada is the most expensive actually.
The cheapest plan Rogers has is 500mb for $25.....
I have a GoPhone (AT&T Prepaid) in the U.S. and they charge $4.99 for 1MB of data, or $19.99 for 100MB of data
