I know this might seem as an inappropriate question for this section however I am developing an app and I would like to know what is considered copyright...

Would any sounds that I do not make myself be copyright infringement?
Could I use an actor/character voice from a film.

I asked several friends and they said it would most likely not be legal but I would like to know from you guys.

    Thanks for any clarification.

    You'd run into issues.
Apple is strict enough that they gave Polar Bear Farm trouble about using a image that had a small resemblance to a Polaroid. Apparently, it infringed on Polaroid's copyright.

You could slip away with some things, like grunts or screams, but not distinguishable voices of actors.

If something is in a copyrighted work, such as a movie or film, then it is copyrighted.

AS far as the sounds, that depends on where you got them. We can not answer that because you did not give us enough information.

Thanks these answers are enough for me to resolve the question.
