I have created a few files to make your Doom Classic into Doom II.
    The file changes are
    - icon.png
    - default.png
    - app name
    - doom.wad to doom2.wad (Supply your own doom2.wad. )

    Check out my tutorial Here.

    Thanks would be appreciated. :)

    thanks

Hey this worked, thanks! I'm able to play the highly-anticipated Doom 2 now on my iPod Touch :)

However, there's just a few bugs I noticed. Any idea on how to fix them?

    • No music, even though I have it ON in the options. (I can listen to my own music while playing, but I would rather have the option to listen to Doom II's nostalgic music if I want. Or at least be able to listen to Doom Classic's music. No in-game music will play at all. The rest of the sounds work fine though, except...)
    • Some doors don't make the proper sound when you open them. They make like a quick chirp sound or something.
    • After I appled the "Doom II" theme on Winterboard, it did what it was supposed to except Doom Classic's icon didn't change
    • Also, you can only start a new game on levels 1-9 from the title menu because it only has the levels from Doom Classic shown. (However, you can just bring up the cheat menu - by pressing 4 fingers on the screen - and type in "idclev##" and in place of the ## enter the level you want to start at from 01-32)

Other than those mentioned above, it seems to be working perfectly. The developers for Doom Classic even had a "dblshotgun" button on the weapon selection screen so you can switch to the super shotgun that wasn't even available in Doom Classic.

I had another question. Once I beat Doom II, is it possible to play TNT and Plutonia the same way too? (By copying over the .wad files to that directory) Thanks!

I cannot fix the bugs since it's just changing the .wad file. So idk about that.

I tried to play TNT and Plutonia but only Doom 2 works.

My biggest disappointment was the music not working. BUT I was able to find and download the tracks to my iPod so I can at least listen to them in the background if I wish - along with any of my other music, of course. (So basically I start up the map's music track first and then start the game and the music will keep playing) Does that make sense?

Not perfect, but it works fine for me I guess.

    Once again, thanks!

Music has been added to the tutorial. I apologize for the big file but if I decreased any more bitrate, it wouldn't sound correctly.
