I'm pretty new to these Forums, and to the whole Jailbreaking concept and techniques, etc, but when I first heard about the Cydia Store, I was a bit confused.
For me, Jailbreaking my iPod had two main purposes:
    1. I'd be able to get content that Apple otherwise wouldn't let me obtain
    2. (The Main one) I'd be able to get almost all free content
Now, the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the Cydia Store, was contradiction. ''Doesn't this kind of defeat the purpose of Jailbreaking your iPod on the first place''?

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea (somewhat), and that developers will now be able to submit their apps through this source if Apple denies their submission, but doesn't this, at the same time, mean that many of the things we have today on our jailbroken iPod, we wouldn't have if he hadn't paid for?

So now, it's got me thinking, was it really an advantage to Jailbreak my iPod? I still think it was, for the only reason that most of the Jailbroken Apps that I enjoy, like TuneWiki, for example, (that I'm almost sure, that had it been released after the Store, I would have had to pay for), came out before this.

    Basically, I'm just really confused.
This for sure will benefit the developers, but will it benefit us?

What are your thoughts on this?
Am I just a dumb tard with stupid thoughts (God, I know right now I'm going to have this part quoted with people saying ''Yes!'' all over the place. But who cares...)

Where should I have posted this?
I saw threads in here discussing the Cydia store, and they haven't been moved/locked, so I thought here was the right section.
Care to explain why those haven't been moved?

Well, it was never supposed to be free, Saurik just made it that way in the first place. Like this site, it doesn't have to be free, Bgizzle could make you pay to join.

But then no one would join, and we would all flock to a free website, much like people not using the Cydia Store.
