I'm trying to find the best option.

Would buying a MacBook be a smart idea? Do they last longer than other laptops?

The thing that really pushed me to buy a macbook was the option to run windows 7 on it.

The MacBook Pro is a really great laptop ( and yes, you can run Windows 7 on it if you ever want to use Windows. Hell you can run Windows in Mac OS X ]. I bought a MacBook Pro last year and i still think its worth it. It lasted longer than 3 of my other laptops, and it might even outlast 5 by the end if this year ( i use computers extensively and MacBook Pro has been the only one, so far, that can keep up with me and not crap out like the rest of my laptops ). So i honestly think you should get a MacBook Pro.

Thanks everyone! I'm trying to find a cheaper option because I don't exactly NEED a macbook for anything, just for convenience. How is everyones opinion on buying a used one? & if so, what is the oldest version I should buy? I don't wanna get something with bad specs.

I bought a used 2 GHz Macbook off eBay and I love it.

It sucks for games, but that's what my PS3's for.

If you want Windows 7 on it, why not just buy a same spec laptop for like half the price?!

im also considering buying a macbook as well but for studying and work. But what also interested me is battery power, which lasts for 9-10 hours. WOW.

    Yes!

In my opinion when it comes to laptops macbooks just humiliates every other one. (no fanboyism)

    Why you ask?
Basicly you pay for every little detail.
Good battery life and fast at same time, doesn't get hot so you can actully have it on your lap without getting burned, It's Light makes no noise and you get little extras like backlight keyboard ect.

Compared to my old laptops I thinks It's worth the price.
