I searched all over the Internet, but I cannot find a solution to this.

I can connect to my home wireless network just fine which is WPA. The problem is I cannot connect to any OPEN networks while I am out and about. I use eWiFi to search for them and when I try to connect it either tells me "Can not connect to Internet" or "Connecting to Network" and stays there.

Can someone shed any light on this? I have a 3G iPod touch 3G, 32GB.

The networks that you are trying to connect to, may have MAC protection type. I have that at home, basically what that means is that certain devices can connect by their MAC ID. Or, the networks just use the new network type "n". And iPod touch 3G does NOT support the new "n" network type.
