well, a few weeks ago i installed windows xp pro on a 5 gig partition, as i'd only be using it to install some programs i'd like to use
well, im fairly sure the firmware needs an update, but i can't use the windows updater because it won't connect to my wireless network

i can see my network in my settings, and it says its connected, but whenever i try to load up windows explorer, it says i'm not
i read that windows doesn't accept WAP2 networks, which is what i'm using now, but when i go to create a new network and set its security settings to "none" it changes my main network to none as well
is there some way i can make a new network with completely different security
and, please, tell me if i'm way off the mark and there's a different solution, but from what i've ben seeing online, there aren't many

any and all help i much appreciated!
    =)

If you are using VMWare Fusion install VMware Tools also.

even though it says dont use for 1 computer..its the only file u can get(and itll work fine)..or the easier and better way imo is to make a wired connection and update via windows update

i thought about a wired connection, but, this is on my desktop and i don't think the old phone jacks work anymore, as i'm up in my room and the airport is downstairs xP
