    Hey guys,
I read a post earlier about possibly connecting a HDD to an itouch with app to read the hdd and transfer files.
The thread was long ago so i thought i'd open a fresh thread and see if this is possible? and if anyone is up to the task of doing or in the middle of doing this?

It seems entirely possible and would be amazing for those of us unable to afford bigger ipods

Why would you wanna turn a high-end technological device into a simple usb flash drive
    ------------------double post merged------------------
just go to staples and pay 20 bucks and you can wear it around yur neck like a homo

I think your missing the point of what i mean. I'm talking about plugging some sort of memory device into the itouch to increase the itouch's memory from 8gb to a much higher gb. not turning the ipod into an external hdd.

but what would be the point? the capacity of a flash drive that is high enough to be worth making this for would be so bulky that there would be no point, it might even yank itself out of the dock connector and ruin your pod in the process

Not necessarily. You can get a usb flash drive 32GB in size and thats just a simple small pendrive. so nothing has to be bulky.

No one needs to be harsh or disrespectful, its only a question and a perfectly legit one at that. Im not a idiot and im not on about attaching an old school modern laptop sized HD to it!

Uhm, you know, 8gb is not all that much : o actually I'd be looking for something like this to extend my 16gb with a bit more ^^...
