Hi from Scotland in the UK! about to get my touch and I'm a bit confused with the versions being sold at Amazon and elsewhere. We have THIS: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-touch-without-Software-Updates/dp/B000VBI0EG 16GB without software updates..£214.99 and THIS: (on the american site) http://www.amazon.com/Apple-iPod-touch-Software-Upgrade/dp/B0012JCZYM 16GB with updates... and in the UK (where I am...THIS: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0013K4ZZM/km-21/ref=nosim and THIS: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5136869/Trail/searchtext>IPOD.htm ===================================== My question is.... This "software update".....is it just the firmware 2.0 upgrade and the 5 extra apps? If so, wouldn't it be the best thing to get the Ipod WITHOUT the updates......and use Apple.com (or wherever) to get the 2.0 update and app.. *AT A MUCH REDUCED PRICE" ???? The editions on sale make no sense to me, is there something I'm missing or can I upodate the "non updated" version no problem once I've bought it. **My guess is that these stores are trying to get rid of old "non upgraded" stock at a reduced price and if so, it means being able to get a 16GB rather than an 8gb. Thanks for any replies.
