Ok Ive done alot of reading, I have to ipod touch 2g, 2.21 . I downloaded the newest redsn0w. I am running vista.
Now for my confusion, I have read that you can break this ipod and some say you cant.
Is the redsn0w out now the one that will do this and if so will it work on vista.
Thanks for any clarification on this.

You can't 'break' the ipod in the sense that it will no longer work. You can however 'jailbreak' your ipod which is what this forum is all about. The program on redsn0w.com will jailbreak your ipod yes

Ok, I have one more question before I try this. The readme says not to connect with usb, Im guessing you put in the dfu state then hook it up via usb and start program. Can someone you tell me if this is correct. Thanks again
