This is proof that the iPod touch can record 1280x720p HD
How did you chat with them?
i went to this http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_ipod/family/ipod_touch?mco=MTM3NTEyOTc and in the blue bubble right next to "1-800-my-apple" sometimes its not there depending on the time of day
Why do we even need this proof?
The Apple site says "Video recording, HD (720p) up to 30 frames per second with audio"
And according to the wikipedia page on 720p:
"720p is the shorthand name for a category of HDTV video modes having a resolution of 1280×720 and a progressive scan."
this is to the people who say that apple is saying that the video resolution is 960 x 720 which is technicality 720P but not HD
Thankyou for correcting us! Please Register or Log in to view images again most of us have no idea and we openly admit that. Since 960 x 720 is technically 720p, most of us were just assuming that would be it. Hopefull this Apple 'Expert' is correct. Thanks again Please Register or Log in to view images

Apple makes it very clear on their website that 960 x 720 only applies to still images. The sensor captures 1280 x 720, but they wanted to support the standard 4:3 aspect ratio for still photos, so they cropped in the smallest way possible to achieve this.
Thanks for the info. I wrote a thread here about why the 0.7 megapixel camera may not be that bad and there were a few questions on why it can capture 720p video if the camera is only 0.7 megapixels. I'm going to link to this thread along with a brief explanation of what you said there, if thats ok with you.
This thing is going to dominate the Flip camera.
I think 'rape' is a more accurate word.
