    Hi,

I'm trying to connect my 3rd gen 3.1.2 Ipod Touch to my multimedia kit in my car. With a generic composite cable I only get sound and no video. I was told that the current OEM apple composite av cable should work with 3.0 firmware and higher (as opposed to the generic brands which won't).

Can someone please confirm before I go to the apple store and spend $49 on this?

    Thank you.

Well, I have the component cables from apple and they work perfectly on 3.1.2, so I would guess the composite cables would work as well.

I have an AV cable from ETech (Amazon reseller). I just hooked it to my HD TV (Sony 31") and all I could get was sound to work. No video. I don't know if my cable is broken or just will not work.

You can buy resupported from Cydia to get any non-Apple cable to work with newer firmwares again.

I know I had a heck of a time trying to get Classic 6G to work with iPod Video 5G untill I realized Apple started blocking those cables.
