Hey, I was recently given a 5th gen used and when I connect it to my computer, it charges, but iTunes doesn't recognize it.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Did you try putting it into forced disk mode?
Hold menu and center for about 5 seconds then when the screen goes blank quickly let go and hold down center button and play. It will go into disk mode. This lets the ipod connect to the computer without booting up.
If this doesn't work try another computer and/or cable.
If none of this works your iPod probably has a hardware problem.

    I've tried all of this.

What can I do to fix this?

If it's still under warranty, take it to apple. If not, you will probably have to get a new one(Unless you have a friend who can fix them).
