    iPhone 3G (White)
    Windows XP SP1? or SP2?

Update to SP2, which is the only compatible SP on XP for iPod Touch.

It's not supposed to show up in My Computer if that's what your saying. It only picks it up with iTunes because apple doesn't want anyone editing the iPod (you see how well that worked lol)

    reinstall the drivers
    unpack the iTunes installer
    run AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi

    reboot

    it should work

    or

    go into Device Manager
    right click on Apple iPod
    hit Update Driver
    Don't connect to Windows Update
Manually choose the driver to install
Choose the driver from a list

    Choose "Apple iPod"
It might say it is unsigned
    it doesn't matter.

    reboot
