How can I back up my iPod completely, so I could replicate it if I get a new one?
a very long way to do it would be to, dump the nor from 0x8000 and forward, and save it to a file, and then dump the entire nand, of course you wouldn't have enough memory for all of it so you would have to do fragments of it at a time, but this would take a long time, or more easily, restore a backup from itunes, or backup the files via SCP and overwrite them on the new one? that might screw it up though
this woudln't work on different generations of ipods, or an iphone, it would only work for an ipod touch 2g > ipod touch 2g, and for NAND dumping it would have to be the same size of the ipod(16 gb > 16 gb), you could resize it to be bigger, but it would be a pain
So if I just backed up on WinSCP and overwrote it'd work? >_>
I also really need to know how to do this.
