I have tried the hold home and sleep one several times, and nothing has worked

all of the obvious choices have already been tried, i need to do something like firmware complete reset however that would be gone about

How about don't hack your iPod if you aren't skilled enough. I bet you haven't tried that yet.

Actually i am, but my router wouldn't let me get passed a point in the ssh. How about you post something that actually helps instead of being a little non contributing b*tch.

    Bet you haven't tried that.

you dont need to ssh to hack the ipod
you can use ftp to load iphone apps
the only reason u need to ssh is to launch installer.app for the first time

and as for that problem, just change ur router settings

so itunes wont let you restore?

    try rebooting ur mac

let it completley boot up, and then connect ur ipod, then try to restore

You can also try resetting your iPod from Reset menu in the Setting of your iPod. I got the same error, reset my iPod from within the iPod, then hooked up to iTunes, and it finally restored it.
