Im planning on exchanging my iPhone 3g for a replacement due to dust particles under my screen, I LOVE the way I have my phone setup with all my apps and all my jailbreak settings, I understand ill have to restore it to bring it into the store when I go for my replacement. I was wondering if I copied my whole / folder in SSH and saved it to my desktop, and then when I brought my new iphone home I went and jailbroke it and installed open ssh on that one, and then just replaced the whole / folder with my previous / folder will my phone be exactly the same as it was before?

If you make sure all maps are shown (not hidden) I think it would, but I'm not sure.

I hope someone else can actually answer your question but I felt like commenting anyway

I had the same question too, my phone's been soooo slow lately, and I want to restore for the 2nd time >.> but it takes forever to do all the thems and whatnot (not really but I'm just lazy)..
