    There have been a few errors while using Winpwn which are very common. here are (hopefully) fixes for those issues

    1. "The application failed to initalize properly (0xc0000135)"

    Fix: You need to download the Microsoft .NET Framework

    ================================

    2. Error -6 in itunes

    This occurs when you are trying to install a custom firmware through iTunes while your ipod is in Restore mode

    Fix:In order to install a custom firmware you must be in DFU mode
    1)Plug in your ipod and open iTunes
    2)Turn on the ipod
    3)Hold down the power and home button for 7 seconds
    4)Let go of the power button 3 seconds after the screen shuts off
    5)Continue holding down the home button until you hear the beep on your computer and iTunes popup says your ipod must be restored

    ================================

    3. Error 1601,2,3,4

    This happens when you are trying to install a custom firmware through itunes while your ipod is in partial DFU mode.

    Fix#1: You need to put your ipod into true DFU mode
    1)Plug in your ipod and open iTunes
    2)Turn on the ipod
    3)Hold down the power and home button for 7 seconds
    4)Let go of the power button 3 seconds after the screen shuts off
    5)Continue holding down the home button until you hear the beep on your computer and iTunes popup says your ipod must be restored

    Fix #2: If Fix #1 doesnt work try this method
    1) After you create the Custom IPSW File reboot your computer
    2) Restore using Standard 2.0 Firmware
    3) Then Restore again using custom firmware you created with WinPwn

    Fix#3:
    If none of the above methods work try this:
    1)Open Winpwn
    2)Close itunes
    3)Hit iPwner
    4)Try restoring the device now
    If that doesnt work then now try opening itunes and then hittin IPwner. Then restore the ipod

    Fix#4
    Get the original fw form your device that was downloaded originally from itunes SHould be in C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

    Then pwn the fw and try restoring

    ================================

    4. Error: iPwner crashes

    Fix #1: After created the ipsw...
    1)Close iTunes
    2)Hit iPwner---( A popup should appear saying itunes is being pwned)
    3)Hit ok on the popup
    4)Open iTunes
    5)Hit iPwner---( A popup should appear saying Itunes has been pwned)

    Fix#2:
    1) Put ipod in DFU mode
    2)Open iTunes
    3)Hit iPwner

    ================================

    5. Error: Failed to Build ipsw

    Fix#1: Use a different computer
    Fix#2: Close all related itunes programs and try again
    Fix#3: Uninstall all related Winpwn files and delete the folder in /Appdata/Roaming. Then reinstall it

    As of right now there is no 'official' fix for this problem. Some people on other forums claim these methods help. i have been searching for 20 min on various forums and cant seem to find a solution. If i see it i will post it up

    ================================

    6. Help My iPod is Bricked!

    Fix: 1) Plug in your ipod and open up itunes
    2) Hold down the power and home button for 20 seconds
    3) Restore your ipod to stock firmware

    ================================

    If you notice any more common errors post them there and i will post a fix asap

    I have three 2.0 firmwares for my ipod touch from different sources and none of them are working on winpwn.

    I keep getting "unkown file" lol. Anyways im going to post up if i figure it out.

    Edit:

    Someone suggested i try another source. So lets see if it works.

    Bullsh*t. I got 4 different sources now including the official 2.0 restore from apple. Nothing is working yet.

    The iPhone firmware worked on winpwn but the iPod one didn't. I have completed the iPhone jailbreak on my buddies iPhone.

    On my Ipod i can't get pass the "unkown file" error.

    Fawk.
