I am having some business cards made up to *professionally* hack iPod Touch's in sydney, australia, i wanted you guys opinion on whether or not steve jobs might get a bit pissy if he finds out and send a team of secret agents after me and murder me in my sleep?

In other word, this shouldnt realistically be illegal should it? As long as my customers are warned that it voids their warranty... I mean if it were illegal to do it, this website wouldn't exist would it?

this is gay. the only people making money off of ipod hacks should be the people that made the hacks...and im guessing u dont give them 20$ per hack u use

Lol dude, im offering my service as an experience applier of hacks and customization. Alot of people are too scared to do it themselves cuz theyre scared of bricking and they dont know the consequences, or how awesome it makes ur iPod.

I am offering my service in aid of those people, and for $20 i think it is a good idea.

Please feel free to piss off out of my thread if you dont like my idea, keep it to urself, i wanted peoples opinions on the legal side of things, not their opinions on ethical and moral issues with charging for something someone else made. And did you stop to think that maybe... JUST MAYBE im one of those NICE rich kids who donates via paypal to hackers whom i truly do respect?

    I didnt think so.

    On your bike.

    US or AU?

Either way, i am offering complete service package, such as my email and phone number for 24/7 enquiries, and complete customization to a largely personal degree. And for an optional 5 dollars i will photoshop up some graphics for them and stuff.

I will be spreading my cards soon!

Depending on how many customers i get and stuff, once the business cards are payed off (should take 3-4 customers) and i have made a tiny bit of profit, i will definately be donating to Apptapp's creators and also to my favorite app's creators, such as photoboard! I cant get over how awesome that one is!

I have a post up on youtube of how to get it working on the iPod Touch just in case any of you had trouble with it.

this is pretty much the same as those chinese stores modding your psp or wii or what not to have 3rd party apps in it, and their getting paid alot for it like 60$, so i dont see why you shoudlnt.

are you planning on having like a small kiosk to expand your buisness? or are you just being a freelancer and handing out bizness cards and spreading them by colleagues, friends, etc?

Also if they had their ipod touch updated to 1.1.2, doesn't that mean you won't be able to hack it before they downgrade it w/ restore. Because if you downgrade yourself using your itunes, you will have to delete their songs/vids and once they bring it back home, the user won't be able toa dd songs/vids until they restore the ipod to make it under their itunes again

i don't believe this is illegal as there is a shop in Toronto, Ontario, Canada that will unlock your iPhone.
