I am hoping that someone can make a comic book reader. It needs to read .cbr files and can zoom in and out with the pinch of the fingers. Anyone else hoping this will get made?

I've been using the ebooks application, but it is a pain to view because the pics are too big! I tried making a pdf file with them and using the PDF viewer, but that didn't seem to work. I think I'm doing something wrong on that one...

I'm still learning how to work all this stuff though. If a program was made for this, I would definately use it as well!

The CBR format is basically the RAR format, renamed. This means that you can open the file up in WinRar and see that it is merely an archive of image files. You should be able to unpack those images into a folder and upload them as a photo album to the Touch. Then you can zoom and pan around each page as you would a photo, and turn the pages in a much nicer way than CDisplay. Note that some Comics are CBZ (renamed ZIP files), which can also be opened in WinRar.

Apologies if this doesn't work, as I'm still waiting for my Touch to be delivered and so cannot test it in practice!

(But if it does then I claim the $30)

The problem is that iTunes resizes/recompresses the images before copying them to the iPod. So when you try to zoom in, the text is blurry and barely legible.

Count me in as well. I tried the whole photo route but the automatic resizing makes it very difficult to read the text.

    I'm very intersted too!!!!!
There is no way to elude the automatic resizing? In Safari, comics looks good but there is a limit of megabites.
Perhaps we need a software like this:

I don't think this works with iPod Touch. But I don't now because my computer is a Mac. Somebody wants to test it?

the best way I have found is to unrar the cbr file then create one PDF file
then use the apache method to view the PDF this then allows u to zoom in ok to view the text. Its just a case of messing around with the jog settings
