First off, I have searched and have not found a similar problem. Every time I make a change to the com.apple.springboard.plist file on my iPod Touch it reverts back to the original when I respring. Any clues where to look for the culprit?

Have you had Kate recently installed.

It's because you don't have permission to mess with the springboard.plist. If you want to play with it, chmod the permissions accordingly. Remember to reset the permissions when you are done.

Thanks for the responses. I don't have Kate installed and I have chmodded the permissions. The changes I make are in the file until I respring, then the file reverts back to the way it was before I made my edits. It is like the file is being regenerated.
