I just figured out how to close out of apps completely. If you do not do this, and you double click on the home button, the apps that appear in the bar below, are those still OPEN in some state, or are they closed but just showing your recently used programs?

I had a ton of them still "open" and I went ahead and closed them out completely. I just wondered if having all these "open" affected my battery life, etc...

SOme have stuff that runs in the background. I have only found a couple to be a major drain on battery.

If I recall correctly, instant messaging programs, radio programs (Pandora, AOL Radio), and Skype are the more notable apps that really drain the battery.

Some apps will show up down their, but they have not been programmed for backgrounding. If this is the case (which it is for a lot of apps) then it has no effect whatsoever.

what it does for apps that arent programmed for the multitasking is it saves where you were when you closed out and pauses the program.
