The composite cable only allows you to show playing media (movies and TV shows) on your TV. I don't believe there is any functionality currently to allow you show everything (e.g., Safari, etc.).

    Composite cable - no music.

I must be doing something wrong here. I have just bought the composite cable and can get video with sound from my touch to my TV, but if I play some music I get absolutely nothing through my TV.

    Any ideas?

certain tv's require a video signal to turn on the soudn processing
you may be out of luck unless you feed something through the yellow socket

There must be some way to make the screen go on the TV, Steve does it for his presentations...
So some one must be able to find a way to do it for us...

One way to force the video to activate so you can play music, is to start the music, then open photos and start a slideshow. At least that works on the phone, I don't have a Touch to try it.

    DaveiPhone & Optimo,

Thanks guys, that has explained it all for me. I now have music through the TV; next step buying a decent stereo!

    Cheers.
