The cause: 0 bytes free on disk.

For the past few days I had been unable to make changes to the files stored in my device. Notes, Calendar, Safari caches, Wallpaper etc. stubbornly refused to acknowledge my changes. I figured this was happening because somehow, during one of my adventurous tinkering with WinterBoard themes (having recently discovered it's capabilities) and arduous terminal-based text-editing stints, I had fudged the permissions. So I confidently set about setting the permissions to 755 in the / directory --- recursively. Following a brief delay while MobileTerminal churned away, I tried changing my wallpaper.

No dice. The issue still nagged at my daily use of the device. For several days I was basked frusturation every time I glared at my smeared screen. My existanced was further plagued by my extreme hesitation to restore. I hate restoring.

So, in accordance with my usual biweekly music binge, I acquired some new tunes and added them to my music library.

It wasn't until I decided to sync that I discovered the true reason behind my troubles. "iPod could not be synced because there is not sufficient space..."
Alrighty, I thought, I'll just get rid of my multi-gigabyte mobile porno stash.

Boy, that was a short-lived decision. My porn remained safely within the dark corners of the 8GB flash card that sat millimetres beneath the big-ass touchscreen.

Anyway, I soon looked at the device entry for my iPod and saw that the capacity metre was full.

I have yet to allocate some space and as I write this elongated account, my Safari cache is slowly deleting itself every few page loads...

You want me to remove my mobile directory? I may be delusional, but I can still understand code.
