Chmod and others....Details and functions?

    ok, so i know that you can use chmod -R and all that stuff but is there a list out there of what all the commands for them like -R and +s do, and also a list of what the other sbin and bin files do??? cause i know half the bin files are left unused from BSD subsystem and im sure ppl would appreciate knowing what they do and how they work

    chmod and chown are Unix commands dude.

    If you want to know what the other stuff do, Look up a Unix command dictionary or something.


    Have you ever used Mac OS X or Linux?

    no, ive never had a mac or linux. strictly windows. looking into buying an iBook though

    cygwin for Windows allows you to use some Unix commands.

    Install that. Its like a UNIX Emulator for Windows
