Hardware hacks are so 10 years ago.

Why doesn't he just do a software hack?

    I used the bannerbomb exploit.

He has to deal with a potential brick and cannot apply every update without first patching files.

Hardware hacks don't require this. Didn't know they were so 10 years ago though.

@chaser69 Just go with a soft mod though. You'll be able to load and play from an external USB drive.

Hardware hacks also have to worry about bricks. Also, with Software hacking, it's virtually unbrickable/harder to brick thanks to Bootmii. You'd have to be a complete numbskull diptard, drunk near death under alcohol, to brick your Wii.

I have a wiikey v1. There is a wiikey v2 and a solderless adapter ($60 total I think) but you must make sure the IC doesn't have epoxy on the leads (the new wii's do).

I prefer hardware mod over a softmod.

Get any games you want + homebrew. Boom blox is fun, paper mario, rockband and guitar hero, punch-out, mario galaxy.

Noticed you mention no homebrew whatsoever.

Quake is actually fun, along with Super Mario War. Emulators, especially ones that used the Light gun, are especially fun.

I was referring to the fact that hardware mods don't need to patch/modify files every time the Wii firmware gets updated.

    Which some people are.
