Hey, ive had my ipod for about 6 months now and im thinking of selling it and buying an iphone. There are a few things i need to know first though.

    1. Where is the cheapest place to buy an iphone, in the UK.

    2. If i buy it, can i unlock it and then use a pay-as-you-go sim card in it? or use a sim card that i have on a contract with another provider?

    3. Will i be able to use all the normal features of the iphone even after its unlocked. i.e. internet

Sorry if i sound like a total noob, ive never looked into the iphone, ive just been jailbreaking with the ipod touch

Well im not sure how EDGE would work with a pay and go package, if at all.

If you get a monthly package with EDGE then it will work.

The UK does have EDGE but I think only ~30% coverage (main areas, London, etc). Weve pretty much skipped from 2G to 3G and then 3.5G here, whereas EDGE is 2.5G.

And the WAP depends on whether your tariff allows for only GPRS or if you can use EDGE on it. Youll have to find that out from whichever company you use.
