What is the cheapest mac laptop I can get? It's probably not in my budget, but I just wanted to check.

you can always buy new from ebay or craigslist, and if thats not in your budget then you can buy used.

Look at the Apple Refurbs. They're basically brand new, but much cheaper. My white MB was $750. They also had a $700 one, but I opted for some better specs for $50 more.

    Nice.

Ebay and Craigslist can be a good source to grab a cheap Mac, but you have to be careful. Sometimes people are just running a scam.

Basically, look for real pictures (there's no reason why someone can't get a picture of a computer that has a camera built in. If they can't figure out how to hold the computer up to a freaking mirror, they probably aren't reliable.)
Stock photos are usually a red flag.
You want well worded posts. Engrish/poor grammar bring nothing but trouble (P-P-P-POWERBOOK!), and being able to meet in person to make sure everything works well is a definite plus.

Also, know your prices. Just because someone is selling a white MacBook for $600, it doesn't mean that it's the latest one. Know the specs that you're looking for and what a Mac with those specs should cost!

I saw one of the current white macbooks with the NVIDIA 9400m refurbished for $850 on the Apple Refurb store.
