I'm looking for a case to protect my iPod touch that will provide enough protection and has some grip. Amazon has LOADS of cheap cases and I was wondering if any of these are any good? And will cases for the iPod 2g fit on the 3g?

I'm looking for something under $10 that will protect an iPod 3G 8GB from scratches and perhaps a small drop (Under 5')that won't block out the light sensor, volume, headphones, charger, homebutton and any of the screen. Tell me which one you think is the best or if you can tell me one of yours.

The 2g cases can fit the 3G right?

    Thanks

Yes, 2G cases fit on the 3G, except supposedly the light sensor is in a different position. I wouldn't go for that flip case, flipping it all the time might get annoying. You should check on eBay, they have a lot of cheap cases there.

Search on eBay for iPod touch silicone case
I found mine for $4, screen protector included, it looks cool, it's cheap and it protect as much as the one you buy for $20 at the BestBuy etc

    Drop: Yes
eBay: Ask the seller he'll get you a refund send another, usually bad experiences are due to shipping, sellers do reply and help because they need their feedback as good as possible

Plus, you should read their feedback to make sure they're good.

yeah, i might consider ebay as a last resort after amazon, if i can't get a good one there

I've been reading the comments, and I've only posted the ones with positive comments and feedback. All I want is a case that will protect from scratches and prevent my iPod from breaking into pieces if i drop it during one of my runs from my pocket.

oh and i was just reading...i'm planning on getting a 8GB 3rd Gen, I heard it's 100% the same as the 2nd Gen but with an updated OS? Does that mean the light sensor would be in the same place as 2G and mean that I can buy a 2G case without worrying about it covering the light sensor?
