    Just wondering..

Is there any way of charging an ipod touch via a computer without the computer actually being on?

No, your computer has to be on. Although you can buy wall chargers, car chargers, and even mobile chargers that plug in to your iPod and charge. Search around the internet or here on ipod touch fans, i'm sure you'll find one.

the iPod charges via the computers power which comes through the electrical socket. if it's off, then the computer can't transfer the power from the iPod to the electrical socket. at least the's how i understand it.

So using sleep on the computer is the best method to charge your iPod without using too much power on your computer?

EDIT: NVM.. I just found out a computer in sleep mode still doesn't charge the iPod

What's the best power-saving (computer wise) method to charge an iPod via the computer?

Don't quote me on this, but I don't think there is any other way to charge it besides just plugging it in normally while the computer is on.
