I am leery about using my computer's usb hub for the charging, as sometimes usb hubs don't work as well. For my Ipod nano, I have a wall adapter by Belkin. Can I use it to charge my Ipod touch? It has the exact same adapter. Do I need to turn on my Ipod touch before charging it? I just bought it today.

You can use that charger for your iPod touch.

Well, Ipods as a rule, come with bleak instructions. One more quesiton: Do you need to turn it off to charge it?

No it will charge even if it's off. You can charge it if it's off too though, but you don't HAVE TO have it off when you charge it.
