I've had my iPhone for a few days now and one thing I've noticed is that the battery charges much faster and lasts much longer when using an electrical outlet, as compared to a USB charge. Anyone else experience this, or know why it might happen?

Battery percentage says that the usb charger only goes up to 85% I thought this was a mistake because of low battery cycles, so I plugged it into the wall and it kept charging. I guess apple wants people to send in teir devices and pay money to get a new battery when they probably dont need one, I might get iPhone 4 soon see how tit turns out for me.

i read on apple's website that charging via wall outlet is quicker than usb because usb is lower power. As long as battery lasting longer just because of wall-charge, i can't comment.

Dino if it might be the model difference, but my 3G when charged from the outlet lasts noticeably longer. What I mean by this is that the bat. percentage stays on 100% for maybe 20 minutes of continued used, then drops to 99% and from then on it's normal drainage. Should also be added that my 3G was replaced 2 months ago before warranty expired, so might be that the batteries still fairly new, or the fact that I've been keeping up with the monthly battery drains. XD

Lasts longer with wall outlet. I have both. Also charges faster, iPod doesn't heat up as much, etc etc.

Yeah, I only have to go charge it at night when it's 20% higher. Right now it's 10:17 pm and it's 30% now from 10:00 am. THATS 12 HOURS !
Also keep your brightness on halved. It's much better for your eyes.

I have a wall outlet and it seems like it probably does the same amount of time or a little bit quicker.
