Just got my iPod Touch today. I was trying to play around with it but it keeps showing a signal with a CD and a music note over it with an arrow under that symbol pointing up and a symbol of the charger. Does it mean I have to let it fully charge before I can play on it or what?

It is asking for you to sync it/register it with itunes.

first make sure you have the newest version of itunes.

second make sure you have your ipot plugged into a v2 usb port that is fully powered AKA plugged direclty into your computer not a keyboard or monitor usb port.

If itunes still does not recognize your ipot. make sure your computer at least recogonizes you plugging and unplugging it.

The new update is better than the original firmware, and even it has already been broken out of jail already. I update mine, and have no problems. Of course I hadn't tampered with it before updating it.

It does not have to be a USB 2.0 port.
