    Hello

I just have my new iPod Touch. Actually I have one question. Need I charge my iPod Touch? Its already full charged but with some other devices you need to charge them again before you can use them.

    Thanks,
    O-D-M

The new lithium Ion battery that is in your IPod doens't really require you to charge it from the box. It use to be that if the particles weren't constantly charged they "died" and no longer accepted a charge. So not running it dead and recharging it would eventually give the battery a "memory" as they called it. It would start charging certain particles and ignoring others which would cause there demise.

That just isn't the case with the new battery. It remembers where it last got charged to particle wise and starts there... it doesn't go back to square one and go all the way up. So it will last alot longer and you can charge it at any time in the life of the device and it makes no difference. That is one of the reasons Ipods are so superior to every other MP3 player.

Thanks for all that information. I come from Holland so my English isn't the best. So I don't need to charge it before starting to use it cause its already charged =$.

i did the test and if i did not full charge the first time the batt dont old the charge as the full first charge even if people say you dont need the first full charge i recommande it and for the second and third discharge wait to 20 %

it wrigthen on apple site for macbook lithium Ion batterie <

and im use to have Palm Pda that all use llithium Ion battery and palm always warn the user to fully charge the batt for the frst run

anyways i did not do it on the first ipod touch 2g that i bought and i was not satisfy with the battery i went back to the store that i buy it and ask for a new one because this one did hold is charge
for the second one i fully charge it and the battery go longer

ad remember that ipod will charge to 80% for a short charge and if you let it stand it charge for more then 4 hours it will charge to full 100%

    In simple English:

No, you do not. You can charge it whenever you want.
