Ok so I got the 2G Touch and found some disturbing news. ALL of my chargers (besides the one it comes with) are not supported.
I was told by my buddy, who works for Apple that they moved to only supporting USB pins and no longer support Firewire. On top of this plugging your 2G iPod into a Firewire dock/charger can potentially fry it. So there goes my iHome, my Alpine stereo, my JBL speakers, car charger & Firewire AC plug.
SO... If you constantly use any product like this you may want to hold up on buying the new ipods until they have more supported accessories.

If you have supported accessories post em so we know what works or what doesnt work.

firewire will not fry it, firewire puts out 750mA same as the wall charger, i can see them not supporting firewire transfer, but they have always supported firewire charging, maybe this is another way of apple saving money along with the box they give out

i've been using my 2g touch on my ihome and my cars ipod connector and they work normally but it just won't charge, are you saying that this would damage my touch?

Can someone with a 2g touch confirm or deny whether a apple branded firewire charger will charge the 2g touch, please??

Apple-Firewire-Charger does NOT charge 2G Touch!
iHome and JBL OnStage do NOT charge it
    Hama-Third-Party-USB does NOT charge it

Mac/PC and Apple-USB-Charger DO still charge the new iPod
(I first had to buy - another 25 Euro spent although I have chargers

    Annoying and disappointing!
