I've had really bad experiences w/ Li-Ion batteries when it comes to using a car charger. It charges the device way to fast and after awhile will expand the battery to where it will never hold a charge. Is this the same for the iTouch? I've heard they have an over-charge protector on it, but the batteries die at a rapid rate as it is already. I just don't want to put extra risk on damaging the battery.

If your that worried, try using a wall charger, if you have one, together with an AC/DC inverter (Just takes your car plug and makes it look like a wall plug)
