How old is the PC? Does it have USB 2.0? You can charge an ipod on any computer regardless if it has itunes installed. What does the ipod do when you plug it in?

Hmmm, if it's too old (say, more than 5 years), the likehood of the PC not having USB 2.0 is quite high... This probably explains why your iPod cannot charge with the PC...

But yeah, I'd also like to know what is the est. age of the PC you are using to charge your iPod...
