I jailbroke my ipod and when I turned it off it wouldn't turn back on.
I had to restore the ipod and jailbreak again.
tested and sure enough wouldn't turn on.
    restored again.
ipod died but now can't restore as theres not enough battery left.
left it plugged in over night in PC but just keeps dying as i try restoring.
is there any way i can charge the ipod while its in DFU mode??

First, when it doesn't turn on, something most likely has crashed. The iPod doesn't actually "turn off", it "sleeps" unless you explicitly tell it to turn off, and when you start it back up it will have to boot. The next time such an incident occurs, hold the power and home buttons for about five seconds, and when the Apple logo comes up, release 'em both. That basically tells it to reboot.

That being said, I don't think it charges in DFU mode which is odd to say the least. I hope somebody can offer an insight into this problem.

i thought the ipod is always charging, that way if it dies in DFU mode you can always charge it and then restore

Just try a force reboot. Hold home and power for 10 seconds.
And you should try charging it in Recovery Mode if you can get it into it.

Are you even doing an Untethered Jailbreak?

if its not being recognized by the pc then it wont charge, if thats the case then your going to need to charge it using a wall charger or an xbox 360 or a ps3 or some other kind of charging source, once its charged make sure you are jailbreaking using a tool that is untethered (ie redsnow beta, redtool, quickfreedom), im willing to bet you were doing tethered

    Woops

read something about tethered and untethered that was obviously incorrect. just read some info on it. straight forward and yea it was a tethered jailbreak. only one that would work. quickpwn wouldn't work, picks up ipod but firmware that was told to use wouldn't.
will try charging with wall charger or something, just cant find it ...

no luck. has enough power to install DFU info with quickfreedom but when i try do restore with itunes it prepares ipod for restore then changes and saya it can't because the device is not plugged in or something. nd device changes to unrecognized by windows......
