I have an iPod Touch 1st generation and I want to buy a new 3rd generation one. I'd like to know if I could transfer the applications that I have bought through Apple Store to the new iPod (I don't want them in the old one).
    Thanks.

You can definitely re-download them from the iTunes store, and i *think* you can just resync them through iTunes (i've never done it, so i can't be 100% sure).

A restore on your old device will remove everything from the 1st gen.

Not exactly sure what you're asking... but you can just back up your 1st gen iPod Touch before you buy a new one. When you plug your new one into iTunes, choose 'restore from backup' and it will transfer everything over.

If you don't want everything on your new iPod, you can just re-download everything for free from iTunes, as long as you're logged into your account that you bought the apps with.
