So I did a little search and didn't find anything...what I did find went back to October of last year so that's not going to help......

How do you change the startup icon? The little Apple thing?
    Can it be done?

yeah i'm pretty sure it can be done. You can edit practically every file on your ipod, and edit every picture so i'm sure it is quite possible.

what exactly are you basing that on? , last i heard , no it can not be changed , it is possible to insert a picture that briefly appears in between the apple logo and the springboard , but that's all...

there is also a way to change the boot up sequence to show lines of code , instead of the apple

My theory is that its not even a picture. The way apple dose stuff is weird. They will dissplay and image then switch it out. For example, if you have a background on the ipod and you open up your music, get it so when you tap it it turns around to show all the songs on the list. In the spot where the stars are it will be back and it will dissapear.

Someone will figure it out someday.

So the changing the Apple isn't possible...but you can have it show lines of code as they're loading up? How do you do that?

Here is how to do the lines of code: http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24512

I really wish you could change the picture, but it is built into the firmware.
