    Hey guys!

So I am at college 5 days a week for a good chunk of time every day. There is really fast wifi all over campus that anyone is free to use. I can browse the internet fine through safari, but most all other apps do not connect. So its kind of a pain to have to go to my mail and login instead of using Mail, and not to be able to use Maps, and Fring. I'm assuming that this is because the admins have blocked certain ports on the wifi network.

I'm wondering if there is anyway to change ports that certain apps use? I was thinking possibly by jailbreaking with a custom firmware, or tweaking something through ssh. If anyone could just point me in the right direction or divulge the feasibility of this I would me very appreciative.
