    Yes, it is possible. /System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app/ *YOUR LANGUAGE* /Springboard.Strings

    Replace *YOUR LANGUAGE* with your language

    in springboard.strings find "AWAY_LOCK_LABEL" =

    replace with your lock text where it says 'slide to unlock'

    for Power down, find "POWER_DOWN_LOCK_LABEL" =
    and "POWER_DOWN_CANCEL" =

    replace with your powerdown text where it says 'slide to power off' and 'cancel.'

    I edited it in the German file. Now it says: "slide to unlock" (english file) - Now I edited the English File and it still gives me "slide to unlock" is there just a way to leave it clear? no text at all in the slider?

    Yep. Can anyone test if you're able to completely remove the text?

    To remove the text, I think you put this in the stings file:

    "AWAY_LOCK_LABEL"="";

    if you changed it to nothing or "" it might just default to the default, try using a single space.

    I think I messed up... I edited them with Notepad++ and copied them to my iDevice via iPhone Browser.
