Well, I've been wanting to change my boot logo for a few days now. I've made an attempt that has unfortunately bricked my iPod [Luckily it was able to be booted into DFU mode so I re-jailbroke it and restored everything]. I used the app called Logo Me that night. Just yesterday I noticed the small notice on the bottom stating not to use it if you haven't used Redsn0w 0.3. I jailbroke using QuickFreedom am I able to use that without bricking my iPod? Or, is there some other way I have to do it?

Also, can someone provide the dimensions for a boot logo, I'd like to create my own. Thank you in advance.

You must jailbreak with Redsnow 0.3, it's a requirement. No other way.

Is that the "Tethered" jailbreak method?

Or, would it be possible to use RedTool [I just stumbled across this] to change the logo/re-jailbreak.

I'm also assuming I'll lose all my stuff once again.

No, it's the official untethered method released by the Dev Team.

Don't know much about Red Tool. Just go ahead and use Redsnow. It's completely automated aside from the 1 click you need to do. Besides, using LogoMe is much faster and easier, in my opinion at least.

Go Here and download the version for your operating system. Just remember to backup your ipod in iTunes if you want to retain your Application Settings.

Using Redsn0w 0.3 is the easiest way to jailbreak your iPod, and no, it's untethered.

The dimensions of a boot logo are 320x480.

Thank you for providing a link and the help.

Just one last thing. I really don't want to add all my sources, and get all my other stuff back. Will I lose videos/music/photos/apps/etc. and have to restore them? Or will everything stay.

Thanks a bunch! I re-jailbroke using redsn0w. It was a lot easier than quickfreedom. I was suprised at the short amount of time it took.

Thanks again, topic can be closed.
