Hi, how can I change the slide to unlock text? I am using a Mac, and have 2.2 jailbreak. I am trying to make custom text for the theme I am using. I need to know a way without using customize. Is there a way to do this in the same manner I replace the slider and such through Cyberduck and OpenSSH? Thank you.

The easy and safe way I know of is to use WinterBoard to change it. The more dangerous way is to change the Springboard.strings file in Springboard.app . The WinterBoard way is to make a Bundles folder and inside make another folder named com.apple.springboard and another folder named en.lproj and inside put a file named SpringBoard.strings . A Simple way to make the file is to copy the SpringBoard, strings file from /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/en.lproj/ and edit the listing AWAY_LOCK_LABEL like this :

    <key>AWAY_LOCK_LABEL</key>
<string>Whatever is your slide to unlock text </string>

How do I edit the listing? Like, what program should I open it with?

I use TextWrangler, which is a free alternative to BBEdit.

Anyone have an update on SSeditor? It was mentioned as a new string editor a while ago but nothing since then.

I have recently Jailbroken my 2nd gen ipod touch and am trying to change this test also. When i went to the directory

    /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/English.lproj/SpringBoard.strings

I edited the slide to unlock text but now it only says "AWAY_LOCK_LABEL"
Where it should say "Enter Passcode" it says "ENTER_PASSCODE"
and slide to power off says "POWER_DOWN..."

    Any Ideas??

Did you use the WinterBoard way? This happened to me a few times when I did replace the original file. I think it detects that the original file has been changed and doesn't load the text.
