You can't simply drop a MP3 into the ring tone folder, it is in a format m4r, Mpeg 4 Ringtone.
It needs to be converted into the M4r format.

P.M me and i will give you the link to help you put ringtones in to the ringtone file.

Hi, I was trying to work out how to do that thismorning. This is the solution.

    Get your jailbroken iPhone.

    1) Get your mp3 song
    2) Convert to m4a (right click on song in itunes and click convert selection to AAC)
    3) Locate the new file (will be a .m4a) and then change extension to .m4r.
    4) Use CuteFTP or something to put the file in the ringtones directory (/Library/Ringtones). There are lots of other .m4r files in there, so you know if your in the right place.
    5) Then just go to settings -> Sounds -> Ringtone, and you should see it in there

When I drag a m4r file into the ringtones, my iPhone doesn't see it in the ringtone selections...
