    Yes, I have searched.

I want to change my background to a custom one instead of the plain old black one. I have 3 questions to ask:

    1) How do I change JUST my background without using a theme?
    2) How do I change my background WHEN I am using a theme?
    3) How do I install/use a theme?

You will have to install SummerBoard from Installer. Reboot.

You must use a theme to change the background; however, you can edit options so that only the background changes.

    I think I answered everything.

    Install summerboard from installer

Check or press use wallpaper in summerboard

Go to settings.app and go to general/wallpaper and select one or add one through ssh

Just a note: ^That is for changing the unlock screen background. They are two separate entities.

if you want to use a different wallpaper with the same icons for each theme, and dont want to copy the themes over and over again, just install one theme that you want the icons and dock to come from with no wallpaper(or it can have a wallpaper doesn't matter), then go to summerboard and under the "themes" bar there is a theme wallpaper on/off thing and turn that off. exit and the wallpaper it will default to is the unlock wallpaper you have chosen in photos, so to change it, just go to photos and set a new wallpaper.

you can still dim it using summerboard if you want

Thanks for all the answers guys. But one more question remains. How do I install a theme?

For Example: http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34708 or any other theme...how and where would I download it to?

Using iPod/Computer? Or using Computer TO iPod? How would I connect my iPod to my Computer to do this?

    Thanks in advance.

Download it to your computer and extract it. Then copy it your ipod via SSH, to this directory: /private/var/root/Library/SummerBoard/Themes.

Umm...I don't think we are on the same page here... Settings>General>Wallpaper does NOT change the homescreen background.
