I have an issue in the 'publishing' process of my app. I don't know what I need when it says I need the certificate. I see where to put it in but not what to put there. Any help? I'm not trying to put anything to the app store...yet. I'm just playing around and may make an app for myself.

When you pay Apple 100 bucks to be a certified dev, they give you the certificate.

Also, you won't be able to put apps made in CS5 on the AppStore. Ever.

$99 to apple for the dev licence, then you get your certs. But as pelaez-1 said, apple changed the sdk agreement so that flash cs5 cannot publish apps to the appstore.

I think Apple dropped that rule after pressure from the FCC so you can put them on the App store now.

I'm not sure if I can talk about a certain app in this subject, but you should know which one I'm talking about. I could use that app to install my created app without putting it on the app store right? I'm not promoting piracy or anything but it couldbe a way for me to make apps for myself.
I'm not interested in putting apps on the app store anyways, I'm 16 so I doubt I could if I had a Mac with the Dev stuff.
On a side note, could anyone direct me to a way to possibly just convert it to a deb for cydia to install perhaps?

You don't need a deb to install an app into a jailbroken iDevice. Just drag the .app folder into /Applications.

You still need to pay Apple 100 bucks to sign it.

So there isn't any way to get around that? That pretty much sucks then what I was asking was how to make debs instead as an alternate way to make an app without the dev stuff.

No, I don't think CS5 can compile an app if you don't give it your certificate.

The .DEB is just a package containing the .APP. You still need your certificates to compile the App.

So I can't make a "fake" certificate? I don't feel it would be wrong if I could since it's just for my personal iPod and all.
