I'm looking at getting my first cell phone, I'm am fairly techy and love all touchscreen android phones, problem is I don't need any talk minutes, I'll never use them. Is there any unlimited data only or unlimited data + unlimited text plans on American carriers? Please post and let me know!

You can get data only plans for things like LaptopConnect cards (so you can pretty much get internet everywhere) but there aren't any carriers that offer phones with data only/data+texting only plans. You could theoretically get a GSM data only plan and use it with an unlocked phone (will be more expensive than getting one on a contract). You could go prepaid and just never call (use all of your balance for texting/data). Personally, I think it would be a good idea to have some minutes (or at least some sort of pay per use calling if you can somehow find something like that) in case there's an emergency and you need to call someone.

What carrier are you gonna go to?
This is my plan for T-Mobile, perhaps you would like consider it.

    500MIN $39.99
    Unlimited Texting $10
T-Mobile EDGE $5.99 (Not sure if they still offer it this cheap)

So I pay around $60 a month....that's pretty cheap considering I use an iPhone

Yes....and I just found out T-Mobile charges $9.99 for that now, so it's still cheap
