My device keeps resetting and never finishes powering up. Jailbroken iPod Touch 2G with latest firmware. Tips? Thanks! I'd really love not to have to redo the whole thing over again! For what it's worth I can FTP to it even though it's stuck in the Apple logo. It also keeps making beeping noises. And when it's about to reset again there's a little wheel in the center turning.

hard reset it (home+power for like 10-15seconds)
hold home, and restore to a NOR only firmware
    no, you won't lose anything

use RedTool to make the firmware

How do I restore to a NOR only firmware and how do I use RedTool to make a firmware?

I'm a noob when it comes to that part but I'm a quick learner

What options do I choose to make sure I don't overwrite anything?

It crashes when I try to create the ibss. Any other ideas on how to save my Touch without restoring?

Try QuickFreedom, But, click the 'Boot Logo' Button.

Try doing this. Hold both Home and Power for 15 seconds and then hold Power only for 2. That resets the device, and could help it boot. If not, NOR only. Which still may not fix it.

If you NOR only, be sure to use the Check for Updates button. Shift + Updates. Far cleaner.

You can NOR Flash with an Update? I never knew that. I didn't think that would do anything.
